Lincs Inspire Ltd have secured a £4,699.00 grant from the Theatres Trust’s ‘Theatres Reopening Fund’. The grant will help towards Covid-19-related costs for venue adaptions for when the Grimsby Auditorium can re-open to audiences.

Together with funds from the venue’s restoration levy and the Theatre Trust’s grant Grimsby Auditorium have invested this money in automating both double side entrance doors to the front of the venue and adjustments to the internal side doors leading to the stairwells. The adaptation advantages will allow for touch-free access into the venue and throughout the building, providing ease of access, convenience, and energy improvements.

“We are delighted that Lincs Inspire has secured £4,699 thanks to the support from the Theatres Trust. The Grimsby Auditorium is a leading arts space for our wider NE Lincolnshire community bringing a host of live entertainment to our doorstep for over 25 years!

“The Grimsby Auditorium is preparing a wide range of measures for a robust ‘Covid-19 Safe’ reopening where our commitment is to make audiences feel safe and secure when restrictions are eased, and we can welcome them back.”

The Theatres Trust is a national advisory public body for theatres providing expert advice and resources in response to the coronavirus crisis and they have repurposed their small grants schemes to support theatres to cover the additional costs of reopening after several months’ closure.

The epidemic has been a very difficult time for everyone, and the entertainments industry has been hit extremely hard, but Grimsby

Auditorium are looking ahead to brighter days and to opening their doors once again.

We were set up by the Government through an Act of Parliament in 1976 and work to promote the better protection of theatres for the benefit of the nation.
